Precautions for Using Wire Rope Electric Hoists

The running speed of wire rope electric hoists comes in several varieties, including dual-speed and single-speed. Different operational speeds of wire rope electric hoists require us to pay attention to different matters.
There are several operating speeds for wire rope electric hoists, including dual-speed and single-speed. Different matters need our attention for wire rope electric hoists at different speeds:
1. For newly installed or reinstalled dual-speed wire rope electric hoists of model MD1, several empty load test runs should be conducted first. However, do not power on for testing before installation is complete.
2. Before normal use of the dual-speed wire rope electric hoist, a static load test should be conducted at 125% of the rated load, lifting approximately 100 mm off the ground for 10 minutes to check for normal operation.
3. The dynamic load test involves repeated lifting and lateral movement with the rated load weight, followed by checking whether the mechanical transmission parts, electrical parts, and connections are normal and reliable.
4. During use, the dual-speed electric hoist is **prohibited from being used in unauthorized environments, and beyond the rated load and the rated number of operations per hour (120 times).
5. During installation, debugging, and maintenance, it is essential to strictly check whether the limit devices are flexible and reliable. When the hook reaches the upper limit position, the distance from the hook shell to the drum shell must be greater than 50 mm (for 10t, 16t, and 20t, it must be greater than 120 mm). When the hook descends to the lower limit position, the safety loop of the wire rope on the drum must have more than 2 effective safety loops.
6. It is not allowed to press two buttons that make the electric hoist move in opposite directions at the same time.
7. After work is completed, the main power switch must be turned off to cut off the power supply.
8. The dual-speed electric hoist should be operated by a designated person, who must fully understand the safety operating procedures and is strictly prohibited from slanting or tilting the load.
9. During use, specialized personnel must regularly inspect the electric hoist, take timely measures if faults are found, and carefully record them.
10. When adjusting the braking slip of the dual-speed wire rope electric hoist, it must be ensured that under rated load, the braking slip S ≤ V/100 (V is the distance lifted steadily in one minute under load).
11. The scrapping standards for the wire rope of the dual-speed electric hoist: the inspection and scrapping standards for wire ropes are implemented according to CB/T5972-1986 "Practical Specifications for Inspection and Scrapping of Wire Ropes for Lifting Machinery."
12. Sufficient lubricating oil must be maintained during the use of the dual-speed electric hoist, and the lubricating oil must be kept clean, free from impurities and dirt.
13. When oiling the wire rope, a stiff brush or wooden piece should be used; it is strictly prohibited to oil the working wire rope directly with hands.
14. When the dual-speed electric hoist is not in operation, it is not allowed to suspend heavy objects in the air to prevent permanent deformation of parts.
15. Special attention should be paid to the condition of easily damaged parts during use. If a fault is found during use, the main power supply should be immediately cut off.
